Adventure Doesn't Have to End...

when you have children. Yes, there's more hassle, worry and work that come with going places, but when all is said and done we always have a great time. Looking back at my childhood, I'm so glad that my parents took us places - from camping to long road trips in the back of a pickup truck. Kirk shares the same sentiment, and with six kids in my family and seven in his, it's flabbergasting that we ever went anywhere. This year for our annual trip with the Washburns and the Millers we tried our luck at backpacking with the kids in Diamond Fork canyon near Spanish Fork.
Kirk carried most of the gear, I carried Jesse (funny that Kirk's pack was only a few pounds heavier than mine), and Maren hiked the 2.5 miles up to our camping spot. Note her backpack - she demanded to carry it even though it was empty. At the top of the hike where we camped there were several waterfalls and hot pots to wade in. The temperature was just right for the kiddos. The hike information warned that some people like to bathe nude in the pools but we made Kirk refrain from doing so.This is a good view of what it's like up there with the different tiers of pools.I'm not sure what Maren is grumpy about in this picture, but Jesse sure is happy! The whole gang - including baby Norah who was just 2 months old.Little dirty trouble makers Jane and Maren.

We shared a tiny 2 man tent with the kids. It was rather cozy and resulted in not a whole lot of sleep for mom and dad.Looks like the boys planned their outfits. Nice! We always have such a great time with these guys and look forward to next year!

That looks so fun! You guys really are so awesome to still get out so much with the kiddos. Your next adventure should be Las Vegas!
