Laundry room camping

We had first camping experience with Maren. Overall she did pretty good for how cold it was. The first night she slept in our sleeping bag with us. She slept great, but we barely dozed long enough to call it sleep. The second night was much more comfortable. In the RV/tent campground that we stayed at, our group was the only tent dwellers, which meant that we had the whole bathroom facility and laundromat to ourselves (when I say bathroom facility, we're talking nicer than our own bathroom, heated and everything). When Maren woke up screaming at 9:30 pm, we couldn't calm her down. We walked around with her outside by the fire, but as soon as we would get back in the tent, she would start at it again. Finally we made a mutual decision to pack our stuff into the laundry room in hopes of a better nights sleep. And a better nights sleep we got!

Aside of the cold nights, good times were had by all. We traveled with the Washburns and the Millers and finally got to hike Buckskin Gulch, which we have had on the agenda for a few years. We couldn't hike very far in the gulch because the puddles got too deep, so we made up for it by hiking in Zion the next day.

Here's a photo recap:

Very fun, very cute photos. Maren looks like a trooper.

(Sigh)

Reminds me of our Escalante adventures...

Marcy,
I just love this little music video......what a fun memory. Loved the music, loved the video, love you guys. Maren is darling. I think you need to go back when it is warmer. But it was a "memory maker" wasn't it? Happy hiking. cw
